You've Got Questions? We've Got Answers.

Q: What's it all about, ALI?
A: Surely you're not referring to the hit song from the 1966 movie, "Alfie" -- if so, you're not quite there. And we won't call you Shirley. ALI - the ASTD Leadership Institute - is the growing repository for professional and volunteer development, events, and online resources. All of these are developed and collected to support the chapter leader and enhance the job s/he does on the board.
Q: How do I use the ALI?
A: If you are looking for assistance in a specific competency area, head over to the Browse section to browse the resources available in that area.

If you don't have a good starting point, we suggest you begin by reviewing the Chapter Leader Competency Model. You can do it interactively online, or download it for printing.
Q: How do I find out if I'm a high-performing chapter leader?
A: You'll want to check out the Chapter Leader Competency Model. In 2004, ASTD's Leadership Development Team embarked on an ambitious project to quantitatively and qualitatively identify the behaviors associated with being a successful chapter leader. The model consists of four key groupings, the key competencies in each group, and the behaviors associated with each competency. You can find the model by clicking the link on the left side of the screen.
Q: How do I contact the ALI team?
